An easy commute to where? The Capital Area is large and the traffic's a nightmare.

In the Muttrah area or around that. Easy access to the centre, Corniche.

Bit generalised I know.

Thanks

The only place where you'd have any luck finding something that's both centrally located AND inexpensive is Ruwi, and even then be prepared to shell out over 300 RO/mo.

Cheaper than other districts in the capital, but still expensive, imo.

If you have a friendly PRO (or know an Omani well enough), go out in the car and look around for empty places. Then ask the Omani to negotiate.

Don't know about Seeb but I pay 280 OMR for a one-bed in Azaiba.

I've known people to get whole villas out in Seeb for under 300 RO/mo.

Seeb is close to SQU which now has most of its faculty off campus... so that likely affects the prices there too, but it will be cheaper than the closer in places.

But if your work is near Mutrah or Ruwi, you won't want to live in Seeb and deal with that commute.
