Great minds think alike, MotherF, I was going to suggest container gardening. There are lots of things you can grow in containers even without roof access, just a sunny window. A couple of zuchinni plants and some cherry tomatoes can add some variety at a low cost.
Thanks for posting that booklet on rooftop gardening, lots of good info for gardening in general. |

okay - that is a good idea...
I don't have roof access but we do have a lot of windows.
I have never thought of container growing things but I will check into it.
Theres got to be a great deal of info on the internet also. |

No problem, my part for our organization, Conciencia Mixteca, is collecting a digital library of free resources such as this one that help people be more self-sustaining.
inotu, Where do you dry your clothes? |

Do you have an online library? I would love to have access to things like that, both for myself and to share with other people. What a great idea! What kinds of things are you looking for? If I find any good links I will send them to you! |

Right now it's in a closed facebook group (I can add you if you like), and mostly links to other places, but I've been downloading everything and saving it on an external drive--eventually we'd put that online, but also making them available for printing on demand locally. It's mostly stuff with an ecological bent but anything that fits into the "do for yourself and do for your community rather than wait for someone (like the government) to come in and help you" ideology--so also carpentry handbooks, sewing, making your own chiles in vinagre, etc.
We also have a public Facebook page where you can see photos of the natural area we are also trying to rescue from government abandonment. |

Hi - just saw your comment.
Clothes drying...
It's hot as blazes were we live so we wash by hand and throw the our clothes over a bench.
They dry in less than an hour most of the time.
If its winter and cooler - there is a laundry mat connected to our apartment.
But, our winters are in the mid 70's.
So, we stick to natural drying unless we need jeans or something to dry extra fast in which case (laundry mat). |
