|
|
I am currently completing an application form to complete a CELTA course in September. My main problem is that being a complete novice at this teaching English game and although being English I am having a bit of difficulty with some grammar aspects of the form, for instance writing phonemic scripts? I've brought a few textbooks which have been helpful but can anyone recommend any good websites that would be useful?? Any advice greatly appreciated!! |

Please take a look at this link:
http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/job/viewtopic.php?t=792
Which is a "sticky" thread in the General Discussion forum.
It's a discussion about a program for writing phonetic script in Word documents, called "phonmap." You can download this program for free here:

I, too, had trouble with the phonetic scripts part of my course! But it's really important that you know how to do it, as you'll eventually see once you start teaching!

A good general guide to grammar (although it doesn't touch on phonemics) is availabe at:

It might come in handy after you become a teacher, too. |
