I'm moving closer to work and my apartment is available. It's on the canal, just off Dinh Tien Hoang, 12th floor with a great view and high enough to be very quiet. The space is 50 sq. m., fully furnished with cable tv, divided into 2 bdrms (or 1 bdrm + office), living room, kitchen, bathroom and small balcony. There is an air-conditioner and a washing machine. All furniture and appliances are in excellent condition. $250 per month + $700 deposit. Available now.
I'm posting this because I've heard so many awful things about Vietnamese landlords. My landlord must be the exception. He's helped me quite a bit since I've been here. He speaks excellent English and works for a Japanese company.
If you're interested, PM me. |

Dave,
Just of curiosity, is it typical to pay such a deposit in Vietnam? And, more importantly, do you get that back after you leave?
Curious how it works.
In Japan, you usually never see the deposit again. |

It's typical for a furnished place. I got my full deposit back. I'm now renting an unfurnished house. the deposit is $65. |
