Hello,

I'm new to the forum, and I'm excited to be able to talk to ESL teachers around the world.

I am currently in Southern Mexico, and I want to stay here. Does anyone know if clean and well-kept dreadlocks would be a hindrance for a Canadian woman with a BA in Psychology and a TESOL certificate in progress?

Thanks in advance!

Tell us, have you found a EFL gig with your dreads while in Mexico?

I hired a man with dreadlocks to work in a business in Mexico City around 6 or 7 years ago and it was not an issue. And this was a very formal environment. But Mexico City tends to be more easy going about many things, from what I have seen southern Mexico is more conservative. I think the way you dress would make more of a difference than your dreadlocks. But that's just me.
