We had a staff meeting last week in which a new teacher introduced himself and gave a potted version of his c.v. There were a few sharp intakes of breath when he announced that he's worked in Israel for two years! Lucky for him Omanis are cool about the subject, I advised him not to do the same if he found himself in certain other ME countries in the future....

All of our teachers are told not to talk about sex, drugs, alcohol, religion or politics in class! I did counsel him not to mention it again here to anybody, he looked confused.
