My wife and I recently completed one year teaching ESL at the Business and Professional English Center (BPEC) in Casablanca, Morocco. Although there were occasional inefficiencies in direction and information, we were overall very pleased with the Center and its staff. I believe they are looking for native English speaking teachers, and we recommend BPEC as a supportive and rewarding experience. We also recommend Morocco as a country to live for its amazing array of architecture and arts, and for some of the warmest people we've encountered anywhere.

So is it the same Yemeni running it?

Riyad Mugawer (who is Yemeni) is BPEC's founder. However, the day to day operations of the Casablanca school are run by his daughter, Leena Mugawer.

Did you work with an English woman from Wolverhampton?
If not, she used to work there.
I heard about it from her.
Some things were annoying but not so bad.

No, I didn't know her. She must have left before 2012.

On second thought, there was one woman, who I think is British, who worked part time. She may be from Wolverhampton. She has a Turkish husband and young child.

No, this woman was older when I knew her back in 1999.
She would have been at least 50 by then.
She had her gripes about BPEC but did not quit.

i was there for a few months in 1998.

i think that I remember the older British lady. Her name was Jo ( short for Josephine?)

The director was an interesting character but I couldn't work with/for him. On the other hand that was a long time ago and people can change. Perhaps the fact that the school is still running after all these years speaks in his favor.

Yes, that is her.
She also worked at English First in Casablanca.
We worked there together.
She had quite an accent. She was from Wolverhampton.

Yeah, since BPEC is still around, that does say something.
There are other places, like the British Council or Amideast, but it is hard to say which is better.

BPEC doesn't seem to have a website.
