Hi,

Does anyone have recent info on teaching at The Chinese University of Hong Kong?

What are the working conditions like?

What is the salary range for lecturers and assistant lecturers?

And please add anything else you think might be relevant.

Thanks!

Smile

Hi there, I can see no one replied to this, but did you have any luck finding out about working conditions at the CUHK? If so, anything you could share would be really appreciated!

Thanks very much for any advice you can offer.

My wife is there part-time and has no issues with them or it at all. Paid hourly so it is a bit different, but they seem to be very organised, in her department at least.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I may be starting work there in August this year if all goes well, and I haven't received too many details yet about salary or benefits etc. as it is not official yet. It's nice to know that your wife doesn't have any problems.

Your students will probably be writing assessments on you though, so be nice to them as this can really affect whether or not you are re-hired.

Interesting thread, as I have 5 former students from the mainland currently attending CUHK, but don't know too much about the university myself.
