I knew a woman with long blonde hair and she had been stalked near Musashi-Sakai station. |

Everybody needs to be careful in Japan, not just women. I (a rather tall guy) was followed by some random guy on the train who kept trying to grab me (he disappeared when I went to the station staff though). One of my friends had some Japanese guy start a fight with him and wound up messing up his hand and needed surgery.
Japan is pretty safe overall, but that doesn't mean people won't steal stuff the first chance they get - petty crime is pretty common here. |

Yes, everyone tends to "forget" that men get chikan'd too. |

Really? I never have. Weirdest thing for me was on a really crowded train, a girl decided it was best to stand with her bottom pressed up against my front. I guess she thought it was the club.
But that's it as a guy |

No, I don't mean the victims, I mean society. |

That sounds terrible. I hope you were able to get over it and move on with your life. |

I have never heard of it. Weirdest thing ever was when I was standing next to a lady and her boyfriend was tapping her on the shoulder. She kept turning around to look at me but I wasn't the one tapping her. But then her boyfriend got off the train and she stayed on. I sudeenly realized that it was NOT her boyfriend and they were strageners and thats why she didn't know why someone was tapping her and she thought it was me.
I was shocked and angry with the man. |

痴漢 [chi kan] -- Public molestation by groping, often on crowded public transportation; also used to refer to the person who performs such an act. |
