Łeba is definitely worth a visit. Sand dunes and a rocket base. Other than that, I can't think of much... |
TY - Appreciate the info. |

Moving on, is there anything in Lebork worth a weekender trip for sight-seeing?
Any of the towns along the northern coast? |
Stay away from Darlowo, it's a horrible place. Amusing at 17:00 in the summer months, but that's about it. |

Janek, you're confusing simple factual statements with statements of support and admiration of purpose.
The Wolf's Lair exists and is an alternative to Holocaust-related sites such as the camps, execution and mass-burial locations for tourist activity. It has nothing to do with supporting Hitler or being anti-Semitic anymore than going to Auschwitz means you hate Germany and love all things Jewish or going on a tour of Congress means you love Democracy and hate all totalitarian leaders. |
One has to be careful with what one writes then, because the "Irvingesque" world tends to try to draw people's attention away from the importance of the events and things related to the holocaust such as Auschwitz, 6 million Jews dead etc. "What's so important about the holocaust, it exists like everywhere else". "6 million Jews dead, oh what about this massacre or that massacre too"?
The Wolf's Lair was used by the man who instigated the Final Solution and is inappropriate to list as an alternative to visiting Auschwitz. |

Not when you are listing choices for vacation visits. Read the first sentence again, you're doing the same thing as Janek. |

Okay, everyone is certainly entitled to their opinion.
It could well be that someone is a bigot or has an agenda that isn't evident from one comment.
That said, I would find visiting Wolf's Lair to be a far more interesting alternative to the club scene, the beach or the concentration camps. |

If you like history, any of these places have 'appeal'. |

Sigh, hopping across the border to Kyiv is a bit off now.....
Not sure what I will do come summer, maybe try the UK. I still wanted to check out some spots to the north. Not being able to hit Spain, Greece or Scandinavia is a pain and has my whole plan in turmoil.
Business is still good. There was a noticeable hit from mid-December until the end of January but the schedule is filling back up again.
Four more months is definite but will see how it goes after that. |

Or have a look at the 2000 Book "The Holocaust Industry" by Norm Finkelstein, and try to see the events of the last 100 years through a different prism. |
Great book actually. Mr. Finkelstein's a very stand up guy, amazing actually. |
