Hi all,
I am an Australian citizen with a Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Arts and a CELTA.
I am currently teaching in Poland and am thinking of returning to Australia after my semester finishes (June).
I was wondering what the job market is like in Australia right now? Is it unreasonable for me to expect to find work at a language school while doing a Med TESOL? I have 2 years teaching experience. One year in a Japanese conversational school and one year in a Polish language school. |

The market has grown considerably in the last year after a long period of doldrums. Realistically, you should have very little trouble finding casual work in Australia now.
You're actually coming in at something of a sweet spot for schools - you have the qualifications, enough experience to be interesting but are not so far up the food chain that your STEP makes you too expensive to hire.
Good luck. |
