|
|
Hello everyone, I am looking for summer ESL work in Poland.
All I really require is enough money to survive (food, housing, etc). I do not care particularly where - bigger or smaller cities; excepting of course villages.
My experience: I have been working as both a TA and a teacher of ESL in Philadelphia for a few weeks now at a language school for immigrants, 10 hours a week - and by the time I finish I will have done done about 170 hours of teaching ESL. I'm also a native English speaker (American).
My goal - I speak broken Polish, but I understand quite well. My aim is solely to learn Polish and sustain myself until a year long UJ course in October '14- June '15.
Where can I look into? (Schools and cities) How realistic is this possibility? How much does it cost - and how long does it take- to get a CELTA in Poland? Can I get a job with just ESL teaching experience?
Is there any possibility to do an internship or something that is paid or paid in housing/food also? As I said I'm primarily interested in learning Polish, so if anyone knows of any other routes I will be more than happy to correspond on them.
Please give me any and all advice, I would appreciate it greatly. |

You could try contacting McGregor Language Schools. They're about 30km from Krakow and I think they might have something like this in the summer. |

Try this: http://www.nativetravel.pl/
Basically, you're getting paid to go on sailing trips and have a chat with Polish people.
I was all set to do a trip last summer but got called up to do some some intensive courses at the last minute.
I've heard good things about these trips. I hope they'll run them again in 2014. |

master shake, are you sure you're paid? I think it's one of those free holiday (accommodation and food included) type of things. Can't see anything about actually being paid for your time, not expenses. |

stonethecrow, I was told there'd be some money, but that a good portion of it would probably go towards food while on the trips.
I mentioned this job because I don't think you need a tefl cert to do it. |

Send me a PM with your e-mail address, I might know someone who can offer summer work. |
