...or any of you other experts on Russia! Cool

Anybody know anything about Education and Training International? I've seen some job adverts for ETIs in various countries, most recently Moscow. Just curious if anyone has any information on them. Are they a solid organization? Are all these various ETIs connected?

Thanks! Smile

Hello Selyer:

Stronger than the CCCP; faster than an aging babushka; able to leap huge pot-holes in a single bound ... I'm here!

Unfortunately, I've never heard of Education and Training International. Embarassed

There are several very knowledgable posters on the Russia Forum now, so I'm sure somebody will know something. Be patient.

Also: We have a 4-day holiday coming up beginning tomorrow, which means I'll have some extra free time for surfing the NET. If I manage to find something useful for you about ETI, I'll come back and post it here.

Warm regards,
kEnT

PS: Snoopy's always so cool. Cool I wonder if he's reading pravda.ru?

Shocked What? You mean you aren't going on an excursion someplace? Or a four-day bender at least. Wink

Happy May Day, Comrade. Workers of the world unite!

There's a compulsory visit to Victory Park tomorrow.

Also an obligatory bottle of vodka to drink !

Enjoy the parades.

Howdy Boys:

Ah yes, the 4-day holiday weekend is upon us, and thoughts turn to excursions, benders and parades!

Me? If it warms up a little by tomorrow, I'll be sitting under a beer tent along the Volga River, watching the boats go by, slugging down 0.5L cups of tepid Russian brew, and probably giving away my pocket change to the gypsy kids and their toothless mothers who troll the embankment looking for brightly dressed foreigners. Razz

RegardsToAll,
keNt

PS: Selyer, where did you see the ETI adverts? I've done a quick google search, but was unable to find anything relevant.

Gee, I'm feeling left out...we don't "do" May Day here in the States! No 4 day weekend for poor little ol' me. Sad

Well, OK, that's not exactly true. I don't get May Day holidays but I am, coincidentally, taking a FIVE day weekend--although it's to go up to Canada to do a marathon, not sit in a beer tent! Embarassed Razz

Kent...I've primarily seen the ETI job adverts on TEFL.com, and they've all been for various Eastern European countries.

Wishing all you May-Dayers a fabulous holiday! Cool

I'm stuck in the US too Selyer Smile

May Day was established by the Marxist Second International so it is traditionally celebrated in European countries. Back then they used to celebrate it by a mass strike every year. Of course we couldn't celebrate a communist holiday. Instead, we picked a different day and called it "Labor Day." Cool

Greetings Dear Selyer:

I found the advert from ETI. Cool

Based on what they've written in their advert, as well as the specific terms and salary on offer for Moscow, I'd say it sounds REALLY good.

At first I was a little concerned that it might be one of those "pay us to place you" recruiting agencies. I am now convinced that it is not such an outfit.

In plain English: They look 'legit' and I'd say 'go for it' if you're still thinking about Russia. Wink

Warm regards,
kEnt

PS: Good luck at the marathon! Razz I will be thinking of you at my beer-sampling marathon which begins in a few hours.

ETI is a British based company that specialises in training oil field employees.

They mostly operate in Azerbaijan, Baku and offshore, although they do have an operation in Georgia.

They have previously advertised jobs in and around Moscow - and then the jobs disappeared.
