I have over three years of teaching experience in South Korea and I'm looking to teach somewhere new. Preferably, somewhere in the middle east. However, a lot of jobs I see requires some sort of certificate.
Right now the LoveTEFL 120HR online class is only 99 pounds which is pretty cheap but is it a waist of time? Will it help me at all with obtaining a position in Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, or other parts of Asia, ie. Malaysia?
Any input will be greatly appreciated. |

Waste of time.
What reputable employer will take you seriously with a qualification with that name.
Pay for a Trinity or CELTA. The jobs that these certificates open up are worth the initial outlay. |

LoveTEFL....seriously??
If it is not 120 hours of classroom time plus at least 6 hours of observed teaching time then it wont be useful for any country or school that requires a TEFL certification. The best it will do is give you a few pointers that you would learn after a few months of work most likely anyways and maybe a slight leg up on another applicant that has no TEFL/experience at all.
If you want to work in the ME, get the CELTA or Trinity. |
