Surely blood-red is best, stained with the blood of the workers....makes it noble and all that...

Well, yes but In Polish, karmazyn (crimson) is a synonym for a Magnate, i.e., a member of the rich, high nobility so maybe not so appropriate and scarlett jus makes me think of Mysterons so I reckon blood-red is best!
