I too am confused about the need of a TESOL/TEFL certificate for a work permit in Turkey.
If a certificate IS needed, will any one do? Will they accept any piece of paper that says TEFL? or will they check the particulars of the course and/or credentials of the school?
I don't mean what does the school want. Obviously that will vary. But strictly legally what is the needed?
I will be working in Korea this year, again. But I want to go to Turkey next year. I don't have a teaching certificate. So I was wondering if I did an internet course would it be good enough to get a work permit for Turkey?

Hi,

To work legally as a teacher in Turkey the government requires you to have a university degree. It can be in any subject.

Thanks. I have a degree and I realize that is a requirement. However, I have been told by several people that a teaching certificate is needed in addition to a degree. This seems to be an area of confusion for a lot of people.
So, once again, will any teaching certificate do?
