I'm posting this in the noob forum as I'm not sure if it's a common question or not. I'm just wondering if there is an age limit for apostilled documents.

I'm applying for jobs in South Korea and if successful, I'll need to submit apostilled documentation (degrees, criminal record check). I'm considering whether to prepare these in advance, or to just use the same ones as I used 3 years ago? Obviously I'll get a new criminal record check.

If anybody's been in the same situation and can give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.

Apostilles never expire. The documents they are attached to might have "expiry dates" based on the date of issue and the country they will be used in.

To answer your query:
- The apostilled degree copy is fine even after a few years.
- The CBC (with apostille) must be 6 months old when it lands on the desk at immigration. 6 months + one day means getting a new set.

In here we specifically can't talk about Korea or Korean issues (take it to the Korean board). http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/index.php . separate registration is required.

For most other countries (at least those an American can legally work in) an apostille of your documents is NOT required.
