CERT faculty are chock-full of losers...
Nary a trace of professionalism... |

There were major cuts to CERT teachers in the last couple years - getting rid of a lot of the problem... but there seems to be great variation in number of teachers needed. It seems to be mainly military. Military contracts are rather notorious for having 'odd' decisions made by the officers at the top which affects who is or isn't in the classes. A number of the CERT teachers have been moved over to HCT - some by semester and some permanently.
So, robinbanks, I would try to stick to HCT positions rather than CERT. As to curriculum, with all the changes in the last couple years... much is up in the air. Methodology is whatever is the latest bandwagon - at least in the interview. Most teachers do their own thing once in the classroom. Not sure what the latest technology is being used there. If you have experience teaching Academic English to lower level students... thus making it mostly basic EFL teaching, you should do fine in an interview.
If you do a search for HCT interview questions, some might show up here because it has been discussed here a number of times.
