I'm almost agreeing with Scot47. Pass the single malt he no longer needs.

Being an EFL/ESL teacher in the UK is akin to bringing coals to Newcastle and setting up a coal merchant there. It's especially odd when people and companies in nearby France and Germany are crying out for English language instruction. I can understand a TEFLer wanting to return to the UK for personal reasons, but you can work in mainland Europe and head home every two weeks.

I agree with everyone regarding this, but I am not getting any response from Europe! Sad

Not sure what strategy to use next? It's becoming desperate, with only a summer job to look forward to.....

If it's a teaching position you're after, as opposed to administrative one, and there aren't any decent jobs to be had with decent salary and conditions, then surely any old job is as good as a TEFL job ...

If language schools pay teachers a measly £10-£15 per hour, and a teacher teaches 20 hours, the same wage can be achieved by working 30-40 hours in a non-teaching position that pays £7.50 to £10+ ..

Guys... I'm open to any (within reason) jobs: administration, teaching (TEFL). If they responded life would be good! Evil or Very Mad

I'm talking about jobs not even associated with TEFL or teaching ...

If you are desperate for cash and you cannot find any alternatives to TEFL that utilise the skills you acquired during TEFL, then surely any old job will have to do in the meantime ..

That's the way of the world ..

Forsake London and the Yookay ! Get thee to the Middle East and Arabee !

And then retire somewhere sensible, as I have done
