How about THIS?
Working time:
- 20 hours of face-to-face teaching per week (most important responsibility);
- 15 hours per week for lesson preparation, academic meetings with local English teachers, open days, professional development program for staff, school excursions, etc. (maximum of 35 working hours per week)
- Monday to Saturday, usual school hours from 7:00am - 11:15am in the morning and 1:15pm - 4:35pm in the afternoon (detail timetable assigned by Schedulers).
Compensation: Living allowance: USD 600
YES, that's right!
Just 35 HOURS, SIX DAYS a WEEK, and YOU get SIX-HUNDRED DOLLARS!

And they expect qualified TEFL'ers to apply for this "job"? But they must get folks to fall for it... |

*Program description:
- Being of English teacher as a local staff in a public high school and teaching English for high school students (Grade 10, 11 and 12). The class size is around 20-25 students. The spacious class rooms are air-conditioned, free WIFI and fully equipped. The courses includes: English for communication, major focus on speaking, listening and presentation skills;
- Provide advice for students on academic concerns;
- Working place: a public high school in District 12, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam;
- Contract time: 25 August 2014 -- 25 April 2015 (8 months).
*Requirements:
- Sense of high responsibility, serious in work with good manner of a teacher;

| Someone seriously told me about teachers working like this before, but I didn't want to believe it. I guess with massive unemployment in some parts of the West, some people are actually taking these positions. It's downright tragic. |

Well, the TRUTH about working in Vietnam needs to be told.
So sick and tired of folks going to VN, thinking there are plenty of $20USD an hour jobs everywhere... NOT TRUE! |

Well, there are a lot of $20 per hour jobs in Vietnam, especially in Saigon and Hanoi. The main problem is that most of them are full.  |

Is 20/hr the golden standard now? Things really have become bad in Vietnam if such a low hourly rate is eagerly sort after. |

| Hourly rates are standard for Danang, and only a handful of schools pay as much as $20 per hour. Most will pay from $14 to $17 per hour. |
