Hi

I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of this company (AIZ CONSULTING) or had any experiences. I had a skype interview with a really nice guy today and all seems really legit.

However, as you all know when looking for job in TEFL you can never be too cautious...

Any replies are much appreciated =P

You may already be totally aware that only EU passport holders can work in Italy legally - if yes, please forgive my stating the obvious.

In case you are not an EU citizen, this is almost certainly a scam - there have been a number of these recently; there are numerous threads below on this. In no case send anyone any money for anything - they can't get a non-EU citizen a work visa.

If you are an EU citizen, this still sounds possibly shady. This is because it's fairly rare for employers in this region to hire anyone sight-unseen unless you have specialist qualifications. It's also not a normal time of year for hiring - most contracts are Sept/Oct through June and there is little work around in the summertime.

I'd suggest you be wary of this if you are EU, and assume it's a scam if you are not.

Thank you for your reply!

I am British so I don't have the worry about visas.

You have given me food for thought!

I wasn't asked for money or passport...but still I am wary of everything in regards to applying for work abroad!!

Most jobs in the region are found from in-country - pick a city and come over with your CV to interview in person. Best times are September through first of October. Because there are lots of teachers around on the ground, it's not usually necessary for a reputable school to take a chance on anyone sight-unseen. Unless, as I noted earlier, you have specialist qualifications.
