Hi,

I'm hoping to move to Madrid to find work for the next academic year. When do you think would be the prime time to arrive. End of August? Start of September? Mid-September? I don't have all that much set-up money, so don't wish to arrive too early for fear that I end up spending a lot before term starts. Also, any recommendations on the minimum amount of set-up money you would advise someone to take with them?

Thanks a lot!

Depends on how well you want to live. Madrid is expensive. Could take you a few weeks to get an offer and then a months wait to get paid so 3,000 euros? During that time you'll need to sort out paperwork too. I'm basing this on living in a hostel type dump for a couple of months (1500) and living on 25 per day.

Where are you from?

Also wondering is it at all possible to find positions that only involve teaching adults? Most positions I see advertised are for institutes that require teachers to teach children for the most part.

I'm not totally against teaching kids, but I would ideally prefer my classes to be mostly adults if that were at all possible.
