Hi. The Maldives is one of the few countries I am interested in working in at the moment. I would love some information about getting work, visas, life style, anything really would help. I have a CELTA, 4 years teaching, and finishing a masters in TESOL.

Thanks for any help. Smile

Hello there,

The Maldives is very similar to Phuket, Thailand in terms of EFL work available. Very touristy and very low wages for EFL teachers. You might find teaching work in a hotel (there are hundreds of them around) but don't expect any savings. Good luck! Smile

Hello there,

The best way to find a job teaching English in the Maldives is by knocking on hotel/resort doors in the island and circulating your resumes....that's what I did decades ago before coming to Thailand and it worked for me. Good luck!

I have a mate that did a stint for a hotel out there a couple of years back.

He might be able to give you some insight.
PM me and I'll give you his email.
