The scammers have expanded to Qatar from the UAE.
NEVER NEVER NEVER pay one penny towards a visa in the Middle East before arrival. I believe that there may some small schools that make you pay some of it once you are in the country and finish all the medical requirements and paperwork. The minute they tell you that you need to send money before arrival, you know that it is a scam.
They also piggyback on existing schools often even referring you to the school website. See this thread as it has been going on for some years now. It gives you many hints to look for.

BTW, it was mentioned that these people are now also using LinkedIn to catch people.
