Hi there... bit off topic I know but I have a friend I am very concerned about because she is applying for a nursing position in Qatar with Hamad Medical Corporation through recruiters Reynaldo Rey Recruitment Professional. She has zero experience of working overseas and I'm worried that she'll get herself into a sticky situation through naivety.

I know this is not EFL but I just wondered if anyone in Doha had any info at all about this place and/or recruiter at all because I know that perhaps many recruiters will hire for a wide range of fields including EFL (my contractor in Saudi for example specialises in civil engineering despite me being employed in EFL).

I'm worried about her getting tied up in the usual mess because she's from a developing nation and stands a good chance of getting picked by someone who might well hold her captive in appalling working conditions.

The Hammad is a good employer and most of the nurses there appear quite happy. Most recruits are Filipinas. Their accommodation is quite nice although I have not been inside. No guys allowed in! Anyway I am sure she will enjoy her time there as there is quite a good social life.

Tell her to go for it.
