What is the difference in the quality of life between these 3 places ?

Is Doha more crowded making it harder to find taxis ?
Which has the better beaches ?
Better movie theaters, restaurants, gyms, hotels ?

I've never been to either of the other two, but someone I met while in Doha lived in Al Wakra and he said it was basically crap. He was the kind of person who went out drinking all the time, however. Middle East rule of thumb: anywhere that's not a major centre is unlikely to be very interesting.

Beaches in Doha? Other than hotels, like the InterContinental and The Hilton (whose beaches are nice but small), there basically aren't any. There are beach resorts quite near Doha (an hour in the car), and they are reasonable and a good weekend getaway, but having a beach conveniently located near your house is not gonna happen. When you think of Doha, think horrendous traffic and masses of construction, not beaches.

I never went to the cinema in Qatar, but Doha will have more cinemas than Al Wakra and Al Khor, clearly. I will also have vastly more restaurants, gyms and hotels.

Finding taxis in Doha is generally not difficult, unless it's a special occasion, in which case it would be unwise to plan on getting a taxi at all.

Sahara Desert,

Al Wakra is about 20k south of Doha and it takes about 20 minutes to drive there on the ring road. It is cheaper than the centre of Doha for accommodation and popular with families because of the beach.

Al Khor, on the other hand, is 50k north of Doha and mainly caters for the employees of Qatargas and Rasgas because of its proximity to Ras Laffan Industrial City. It is noted for its Al Sultan Beach resort and the new Al Khor Mall, opened in 2012. The beaches really need a 4 by 4 car for access, but Al Thakira beach is popular for picnics.

However, everybody in Qatar gravitates towards Doha for just about everything. Nowhere is far away in Qatar.

Thanks for the link.
Perhaps Al Wakra is a nicer place to live in than Al Khor ?
I am looking for nice beaches, less construction
and easy access to taxis ?
