Not exactly related to ESL, but still an interesting article about teaching Czech to foreigners.
"Prague, Feb 17 (CTK) - Foreigners in Czech schools do not have any big problems according to teachers, but experts have long been pointing to that the schools lag behind in European comparison in the teaching of children of other than Czech origin, daily Pravo writes yesterday.
It writes that more than 15,000 out of the total of 827,000 elementary school students are foreigners."

I think the situation is even more difficult outside of the major cities. |
