VAS is Vietnam Australia International School. If you don't know it well don't bother. |

VAS and VUS are 2 parts of the same school AND when I worked there, both were paid by VUS. The main difference is that the students at VUS were kids and adults but at VAS they were only kids.
VAS does have a program for an actual daytime International School but it's credentials are questionable at best.
During the evening hours and weekends, it's only another language mill.
Last I heard, all hiring is done through VUS. Hope this helps. |

Can anyone share an updated experience with VAS (Vietnam Australia International School)? It's been recommended to me by a few fellow teachers as a way to get weekday hours. From what I've heard they are no longer affiliated with VUS and the headquarters is not on Cach Mang Thanh Tam as they sold that building. I emailed them but haven't heard back yet. Thanks! |

I think its worth checking out if you need some hours to fill out a schedule, but I wouldn't go full time. |

Do you know which building is their headquarters now? Definitely just part time, I'm just looking for an extra 10 hours or so during the week. Do you work with them? |

1 year later, their headquarters is on 3 Thang 2, in district 10.
I was wondering if anyone working there full-time right now could share their salary/benefits? I'm considering a job with them as I don't have a teacher's cert for the more upscale (real) international schools. |

There are two schools with the VAS acronym in HCMC.
Vietnam Australia Society English Centres is the other one.
They have three locations as far as I know. Two on Nguyen Thi Thap in D.7 and their head office above Big C on the third floor of the Mirae Building, 268 To Hien Thanh, D.10.
I have a business card.
I worked for them a couple summers ago. They were just fine to work for. No problems. Negotiable. They had a fixed exchange rate when converting US to Dong. Remember that when you negotiate with them.
They seemed to have some policy about 90 minutes being the shortest work shift.
Besides being a typical English language centre for all ages they also taught construction classes in English. Courses in rebar for example. On-site business English classes of course. |
