| I have heard this is a scam. I am telling a friend to be wary of it. He has a freind in Senegal who says she needs it to meet him in Japan. Sounds like a scam. I can't find the country's website to verify it. The US embassy says it is though. |

Supposedly, citizens of west Africa, in this case Senegal, must show at the airport a certain amount of money before leaving that they can support themselves with when they visit certain countries.
The traveler has a visa, round trip ticket, health check, everything according to the country of desitnation requirement but their own country is supposedly saying they must have a certain amount of cash on them. like 1000 dollars which doesn't sound right.
The term beng used is BTA - Basic Travel Allowance. Possibly other terms but the purpose is the same. |

You should think about changing the subject of this thread so it's clear that you're referring to W. Africa. |
