Greetings,
The American School in Skopje, has no American students. They also don't have any certified teachers. There are also very few students and it is a small school. When I was in Skopje, I heard that the school was run by an absentee landlord with the usual heavy handed local oversight. I talked to a couple of students and a teacher that had been there. The teachers can pretty much do what they want. The tuition is low and it seems so are the expectations. Also, the pay is very low. None of the schools pay very well and it is a hard place to work. On the other hand it is a beautiful country with a lot of nice people once you get to know them. It is easy to get around the region from there. I think the reason that you can't find much on the American School is that they don't want too much out there. Good luck and if you want more of the lay of the land there, please PM me. |
