I started about a month ago at a public university. I haven't started teaching the students yet. I enjoy living in Kadikoy. I've visited it many times before.
My colleagues are nice so far. Of course, it would be nice if more things were clear to instructors, but it happens in many countries and at many jobs. It is to be expected. I like living here so far. I like the food, the cats. I don't know many foreigners/expats over here, but I met a few Americans. Most of my friends are Turkish. My Turkish is somewhat decent. I'm going to also take a course at Dilmer in October. I'm open to meeting more Turkish people and expats. |

I like Turkey too...especially Istanbul...but teaching English is another story. Hopefully one day schools will start offering us better EFL salary packages...problem is too many EFL jobless backpackers around looking for work which keeps wages DOWN across the board!!! |
