I am very interested in finding elementary schools located both in the tropics and in a coastal town. I am focusing on Panama, Costa Rica, or Nicaragua, but am open to look in South America as well. I'm ready to begin applying for jobs for 2016!

I would absolutely love any names of schools or organizations that can lead me in the right direction.

What's your degree major, and are you an experienced, licensed teacher?

There are many places if you don't mind getting paid peanuts. Keep an eye on idealist.org

There is a job in coastal Chile. Chile is a good place to be. Their Spanish is difficult, but it's one of the wealthier countries in the region. I think it's just an institute (not an elementary school) but many people prefer to teach adults and older teens.. so if your preference is for younger kids and the institute has kid classes (most would) odds are good you could get at least some of the kid classes. Or if they normally don't have kid classes but you'd like to have kids they might even be willing to start kid classes.. the more options they have for classes the more students they can get.

Ask about the visa! I think that the visa for Chile isn't hard to get..just make sure you know the fees and the process (i.e. Do you have to go to Santiago to set it up? Is it safe to go alone..or does the school send an employee with you?).

Be aware that few schools will cover air fare.

The OP is looking for a place on the coast in a tropical area, and Chile does not fit that bill, I'm afraid.
