|
|
I am interested in acquiring a position to teach ESL in Turkey in about 2 years. I will have a 250 hour TOEFL diploma plus a practicum and a bachelor's degree in an unrelated field. My wife will have a bachelor's degree in elementary education and (if needed) will require a short ESL certification.
Is Turkey a good spot for finding positions? I've always been interested in S. Korea, but at my current job have been talking to a woman who is from Turkey and she makes it sound very interesting.
Any pros or cons to Turkey? I'd prefer Instanbul, of course, but I'm open to anything. higher income is more important than big fun city. Both my wife and I would need a position, preferably in the same city, but same school not necessary.
Also, does Turkey offer paid flights? Paid apartments? Paid vacations? Is it considered less profitable than S. Korea or is it better or similar?
Thanks for all the help. Greatly appreciated. |

I think you mean do "employers" generally offer paid flights, etc.
You're asking about prospective employment opportunities two years in advance; no one can predict what the TEFL market will be like in Turkey for the level of pay/benefits you expect. That said, I suggest you take a look at other threads within this forum for some insight on teaching in Turkey. |

I didn't ask to have the teaching field there predicted two years in advance. I asked what it was like. |
