|
|
I want to make money for one year, so I'm gonna work in the Middle East. On the International Jobs forum, there are lots of listings for Saudi Arabia, yet none (or very few) for other Arab countries.
I wouldn't like to live in Saudi Arabia, but I fear I may have to (I need to save €12,000 in one year).
How does one go about finding these job vacancies in less strict Arab countries?
If it helps, my qualifications:
Irish, male, 24, BA English & History, CELTA + 4 months academy experience, 2 years language assistant (SPain and France).
One more thing, I'm looking for a job starting August/September 2016, when should I be applying? (Most jobs listed now are for January-March) |

You got your answers on the other thread that you posted here:
http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=112902
Posting it on another branch won't get a different answer to your situation. With your limited credentials, Saudi Arabia is the only country that might hire you. And you are unlikely to reach your goals.

I detest Saudi Arabia, but with your financial requirements and experience you will have to come to Saudi Arabia at least for a brief stint. You might try looking for jobs in Oman. An Oman job might just get you the money you need in one year. |

As mentioned on your other thread, your qualifications will only get you a job in Saudi Arabia (if at all) and likely with a crappy contracting company.
You don't have enough experience for Oman (language assistant experience doesn't count). The rest of the Gulf requires a minimum of a TEFL-related MA and 2-3 years of experience. (These positions usually get filled at TESOL Arabia's annual job fair, which is why you'll rarely see ads on the Cafe or similar job boards.)
Look into China or Korea. |

You'd have to inquire on those country-specific forums. Be sure to ask how much you'll need in start-up costs.
Anyway, your expectation about a decent-paying job that allows you to save a big bundle in just one year isn't realistic. |

The same answer as you got on the other thread. Go to China or Korea. I still think your aim of saving 12000 Euros in a year is unrealistic. Spread it over two years and live a little. |

You could probably get a job in Iraqi Kurdistan. State jobs have pay arrears issues but there are private sector jobs too. It is possible to save that much here. |

However, the private sector will eventually feel a pinch. Kurdistan's economy is tied to a dwindling oil revenue, which is also how they've been financing the war effort.
Anyway, the OP has turned his attention to the China forum. |
