I have never been to Kuwait and I am wondering if the life there is similar to that of the UAE ? |

My experience is that it is different. Social life in Kuwait revolves around the trendy cocktail bars in Salmiya. Waterfront terraces where you can sip a martini at all hours. Further south there are splendid seafood restaurants in Fahaheel where you can wash down your shrimps with a cool Chablis. The beaches of Fintas and Abu Halifa permit nudism. Don´t worry about the Kuwaiti cops with binoculars. They´re just keeping it all under control. |

Yes, he is... and yes it is. That said, I never went to a party in Kuwait where there wasn't plenty of booze and it wasn't homemade stuff.
I have no idea where it came from and didn't ask because I don't drink.

Ah...I see.
So on a more serious note, how are Kuwait and UAE similar, if at all ?
What are the differences?
Are there camel markets to visit ?
Private, nice, clean beaches to swim in ? |

The only nude beach on the Arabian Peninsula is Dubai's Jumeira Beach...
...or so, the British seem to think! |

With Kuwait, it is really just one city sitting in the empty flat desert. It is rather shabby and reminded me more of Cairo than Abu Dhabi. Little or none of the glitz and glamour of Dubai.
There isn't the variety of landscapes offered by the UAE... no big red dunes to bash or mountains for hiking or camping. And there isn't a beach that one would want to swim at... it is very polluted up there. I used to take a long walk on the Salmiya "beach" every evening but while serviceable for walking it was neither scenic nor all that clean.
I was only there a year, and while I could happily have returned to a UAE city or Muscat... I would never have returned to Kuwait.

(PS... my Kuwaiti students were lovely - both male and female... but the job was ghastly) |

Consider that the UAE is a vacation hotspot for Kuwaitis and other GCC nationals. |

Thanks for the link.
I am not a drinker nor am I into nightclubs so that aspect of Kuwait does not bother me. |

Then take a look at the "Weekend Activities in Kuwait" link on that same webpage. |

One year. She said she spent a year in Kuwait. You then asked how many years she was in Kuwait. I´m making it simple. You don´t read well, do you? |
