A Diploma From An Online For-Profit College May Keep You From Getting Hired
GENERATION PROGRESS
BY ANNIE WOOD | OCTOBER 7, 2014
"In terms of getting hired, a college degree is a college degree, right? Actually, employers are pretty discerning when it comes to the type of college you attended. We aren’t talking about Ivy League versus public university or community college. It turns out there’s a kind of diploma that may keep you from getting hired: one from an online for-profit college."

Oh, I think it's quite common in Europe and North America to be suspicious of online degrees from for-profit universities. I must say that I am personally less impressed with these when reviewing CVs. |

I had six online credits from a SUNY university, and it was only because they couldn't maintain a thesis advisor in residence in the city where I attended the university. How many Middle Eastern universities would be on the same level as a SUNY university? In ethics none, and in every other important aspect I doubt if there would be any at all. Many Mohammedans still believe in The Protocols of Zion and it was still taught to Saudi children when I was teaching English in Saudi Arabia. Any perceived differences between Brick and Mortar Schools and Online institutions aren't what keeps the Middle Easterners from top of the line education. |
