Buses in Beijing have special yellow seats for the elderly... I was sitting in one of those yellow seats and an older Chinese man demanded that I leave due to his perception that I was younger than him, I promptly showed my passport to him to illustrate that I was in fact older, along with the slightly irritated quip, "I must have had a better life than you" ..... his reply, after seeing my U.S. passport, ..."yes, your an American" ..... seems like, since that day, I reflect on this and on the 4th (lacking celebrations beyond restaurant promotions and bar specials catering to expats chasing their dreams in the middle kingdom) this is a memory that continues to encourage a self examination of the freedoms we hold dear and those we fight to protect..... Happy 4th and enjoy what ever and however you celebrate the birth of a nation that to many represents the freedoms of self expression, the ability to associate with those who are like minded, and the ability to ride free.

True, true, and also, even if the road from the Midwest to the South is longer, just a bigger neighborhood is the way I look at it.
