It was two doctors working at the hospital according to VOA news. FOX news says they were professors. Maybe they were PhD's working directly at the hospital. One American, one Australian.

Anyone who works there already knows the risk, and the kidnappings just serve as a reminder. By the way, in case you might be interested in doing a little English there, the net pay is about $3200 a month for 20 contact hours a week.

Uh, my comment was solely about the quality of instruction/education at AUAF and nothing more.

As for choosing to teach in a danger zone or amid socio-political instability, I had personal, non-monetary reasons for doing so, despite the danger. I have never regretted that decision. You can label it as silly, but for some, such decisions aren't taken lightly nor made overnight. Those who do sign on just for the danger pay or whatever high salary usually don't last long. Besides, astute recruiters and interviewers try to screen out those applicants up front.

Right now, the focus is on the safe return of the two kidnapped victims.
