Is it possible to apply for a work permit in a third country? By third country, I mean other than Turkey or your home country. If so, can you just be in this third county as a tourist rather than have something like a student visa or a residence permit? Of course, I know that it is possible that the answer depends on the country. |

Your employer should be processing the application for you. It should be possible, provided you can get your diplomas and certificates to them to be translated and notarized. It is no longer necessary to appear in person before the authorities to receive your work permit, either. |

I was looking to get a visa in Ukraine. I wrote the consulate & they told me this:
"The following documents must be submitted for the visa category: Work permit (any additional documents could be asked by the Embassy during visa process).
· Work contract in Turkish and any other language of the Applicant (English) signed both by the Applicant and Employer.
· Police background certificate from Ministry of Eternal Affairs of Ukraine and its translation into Turkish.
· Police background certificate from USA Embassy and its translation into Turkish.
· Invitation Letter (in original, pdf or fax copy) from a company.
· 1 colored photo 5X5sm on the white background.
· Confirmation of registration on our web site www.konsolosluk.gov.tr
· Valid ordinary passport for travels + copies of used pages.
· Residence permit in Ukraine + copies of used pages.
· Visa process takes about 1 month"
So, it is possible as long as you have a residence permit |
