Hong Kong is very expensive. How much do you think a TEFL salary is over there? Why work in an expensive city like HK? Are you gonna get free accommodation? Just do like NS says and email your registrar to get a transcript or letter about your TEFL. TEFL is CELTA. There aren't any other TEFL certificates I know of. They're all CELTAS nowadays I think. That's the only one worth getting anyway. |

I am not in HK anymore, thank you. And yes, there is TEFL and CELTA, the two are not the same. |

Usually no free accommodation is offered with teaching positions in HK. Why work in HK? Put simply, there is still a lot of potential to earn good money here teaching EFL. I personally know quite a few teachers here earning over USD $100K / year. When combined with low taxes and the other benefits of living in HK, it's not hard to see the attraction. |
