Ha ha ha! Is Łódź a hip place? It's got a film school and some bands have come from there, but I've heard it's generally a poo-hole. T or F?
Do they really consider hipsters a unique selling point? Too many twerps in lumberjack shirts, quiffs, victorian facial hair etc struggling up hills on fixed-gear bikes and I avoid the place like the plague! |

Drink at the Baghdad Cafe and you may change your mind.
Lots of good students there.
They do well on the Cambridge Proficiency Exam - behind the Greeks.
Maybe they want to be hipsters.
Compared to Kielce or Radom it must be cool. |

I once saw a Polish meme: "Whenever you're feeling lonely, think of the tourist information centre in Radom." |

Hipster is not the right word.
That would apply to Berlin.
But Lodz is not bad. Sure, Krakow is better, but not the pay. |

I guess they got tired of 'Venice of the north', 'good local salary' and 'free coffee and internet'.
'Hipster town' shows you exactly who they want to recruit and is an indication of how seriously the take their native speaker 'experts'. |

Maybe you're just taking the ad itself too seriously.
From the ad: "Łódź is called a hipster of Polish towns, here we have OFF Piotrkowska, the one among 7 places in Europe worth visiting according to National Geographic!!!"
Lol, since when has being labeled a hipster town been POSITIVE? It doesn't exactly make me want to jump on a plane to Łódź. And is the fact that they're OFF Piotrkowska Street supposed to mean they've somehow escaped the hipster hordes? |

Lodz has always had an inferiority complex.
Anyway, students are pretty good there.
Cheaper rent than Warsaw.
Your flat could be bigger.
You can get good, fresh bread at a bakery.
A lot of Jewish history there. |

There once was a teacher in Lodz,
Who got drunk and lost his shoes,
He couldn't get home
He lost his phone
And realized it was all from the booze. |

There once was a girl from Buk
Who drove around in a Zuk
With amazing pipes
