Hi, has anyone here been to Shenzhen, China?
I lived in China for 4 years and that is the only place over there that I liked. It is very big, very modern, clean (for Chinese standards)and international.
Can the two be compared?
Is Ho Chi Minh city in any way similar to the description given above?
Thank you very much in advance for your reply. |

I don't really have much interest in China, so I have never been there. Vietnam is tropical, so it's generally hot which is one of the main things I like, although the humidity can be pretty heavy at times.
Anyway, HCMC is also very big, it's becoming more modern and is being cleaned up some. The air quality is quite low and the noise level is rather high. For this rason, you might look for work in other smaller cities nearby. |

HCMC is less developed than Shenzhen. No subway system in HCMC so you will be like the (seemingly millions) of others on your motorbike.
I usually don't think of air pollution being a problem in Vietnam but once you are behind 30 bikes with their exhausts all pointed at you then you quickly realize it is.
I think HCMC has more fun factor than Shenzhen which I found as boring as hell. |

Agree with creeper. SZ is cleaner less chaotic and less noisy. Transportation is better. HCMC is fun and exhilarating but SZ a saner place to live if you are anywhere on a subway line. Different vibe basically |
