What's the situation as far as work for livable wages teaching ESL in Serbia?
i'm a native speaker with a US passport, a BA in English from a US university, and a TEFL Cert from Oxford Seminars.
Thanks. |

Few people get livable wages in Serbia, including Serbians.
According to my Serbian students, there is very little market for EFL teachers; most teaching is done by qualified locals.
Oxford Seminars, by the way, is considered below the entry level standard for TEFL courses on the European continent as it does not include the supervised teaching practice with real students. An American with this cert is going to have quite a tough time finding anything decent in the region, even in the countries where you could get a legal working visa. |
