|

The food in Japan is great. Don't get me wrong. But there are some things that are hard to find here - or at least hard to find the way I enjoy them back home - such as certain brands of cereal, or peanut butter (done right!).
Any good ones? Some of us live don't live in Tokyo or Osaka or have a Kalidi that is too far away or old get Costco with a monthly or bimonthly "Costco Fair" at a local supermarket (with limited item selection).
If it's okay to post links, here are a couple I found where you can find things like peanut butter without all the sugar added:
https://www.fbcusa.com/
https://www.iherb.com
Anybody know other good ones to add to this list? |

Thanks! That's actually a kind of neat site. I'm originally from Canada, so I grew up with a hybrid of products from the states and from the UK. |

If you're from Canada there's this monthly subscription service:
http://expack.co/canada-foods
For some reason only the Canadian version has overseas shipping, and the extra shipping costs are kind of high, but if you're missing the junk food then maybe it's a good option. |

I've used iherb for supplements, another site for OTC & drugstore-type items is https://www.456.com |

Weird. They do not allow the customer to choose from a list of items. It is a mystery box or grab bag of items. |

I saw that site before! Junk is great fun sometimes, but if you have a subscription and it keeps coming and coming with no end... No, I don't think a subscription would be good for me. |

I almost forgot KALDI Coffee Farm stores.
This growing chain sells lots of imported snacks, sauces and Vegemite.
That British site someone had posted was selling Marmite for 6.90 British pounds. Ouch!!!
Kaldi sells Vegemite for 360 yen (as I remember) but less than 400 yen for sure. |

Aeon Liquor is another one with a decent selection of foreign food and booze as well. Aeon and Kaldi both have online shops so it shouldn't be too difficult to get stuff delivered if you're outside the big cities. |

I found another website iherb (https://jp.iherb.com/c/jason-natural) which seems to be good for American products at least. The shipping fee is waved if the order is over 4000 yen. So my colleague and I order together and sometimes with another friend of ours and make sure we order over 4000 yen. So, far ordered things like Cheerios and peanut butter with no sugar added! |

Then there are the teachers who managed to get on the US bases to shop at the PX for a discount. I know a teacher from NZ who does it. I guess he has a friend but don't know how he manages it. |

I hear positive things about iherb, too. I haven't tried it myself, though. Kaldi and Costco trips, though infrequent, are more than sufficient for us. We don't really keep to a Western diet, though. |
