We received a job offer to work at a municipal school in Chiang Rai. Ive done some research and heard it has a slow pace of life and a laid back feel. Can anyone shed some light on this province or city? I would love to hear anything anyone has to offer. All the best.

I have lived in Chiang Mai for years and have been to The Rai forty times, and stayed there over 100 nights, but No, I don't live or work there so I won't comment.

IF you are IN the city then it will be comfortable enough. There are lots of tourists going through so there are "western" ammenities and there are regular, cheap flights to Bangkok as well as some regional, international locations.

IF you are out in the province somewhere then I hope you are comfortable with a very slow pace of life. The closest thing to western life will be a Coke at the local 7-11.
