Hi All,

I've got an interview coming with with the MOE here in Sharjah for the position of Science Teacher.

I am told there will be written test, followed by a teaching demo. For the demo, I will submit a full lesson plan and teach 5-7 minutes of it.

Has anyone gone through this process or have any advice regarding the test or interview?

Cheers!

Since this forum focuses on ESL, your wife might be the best source for tips for your interview. I'd guess it wouldn't be too different from her MOE interview for biology teacher.

During your interview, definitely be mindful of Sharjah's conservative culture.

Good luck.

Funny you mentioned her lol....She first applied to the MOE as an English teacher, interviewed for the position of English Teacher, was offered a position as an ASP Biology Teacher (she has a background in Bio), but has been all over the place in terms of work since we arrived this summer. She has spent time in 3 different school in Sharjah and RAK (ASP, Professional stream and Mainstream), as well as a month at the MOE office in Dubai helping develop the new "professional stream" science curriculum. She's still not sure where she'll end up. This seems to be the case for most of the teachers that were hired with her this summer.

As far as her helping me out with my interview....her interview was through Footprints recruiting and took place in the UK. Her format was also a bit different, which is why I thought I'd enquire here to see if anyone has any insight on the interviews directly with the MOE.
