I have been accepted to a CELTA program, but it's rather expensive. I am hesitant to pay $2700 US dollars for the course if it won't really benefit me much. |

It depends. What qualifications (degree level & major, relevant experience) do you currently possess? |

If you have a degree then it won't matter which TEFL course you take. Holders of a university degree who intend to teach in a cram school (buxiban) are not required to have teaching qualifications (meaning that a TEFL is NOT required.)
If you do NOT have a degree then the point is moot since you are unlikely to get a visa or the necessary permits to work legally anyway.
