Amazing! We get on again off again information about getting a Z in HK. In the past it has turned out that these are in fact renewls of existing Zs.
A brand new Z in HK is indeed ground breaking. |

You can't renew a Z visa, and an RP would be renewed on the mainland. I had no Z visa in my passport, I had an expired work RP and a family reunion RP. They would not convert my spousal RP to a work RP, so I had to go to HK to get a new Z visa. |

Indeed, I look forward to getting through all of this rigmarole in just getting the Z visa and then sitting back a few years later (hopefully!) and renewing my RP on the mainland year after year pretty effortlessly.

You weren't a 'clean skin'.
You had connections with China - spousal, it seems.
What I would like to see is someone travelling from their home country to China on an L. Looking at jobs and when a suitable one is found going to HK and getting a brand new Z.
This would stop a lot of the bait and switch that goes on with remote hires. The school also benefits as their is no need to rely only on phone/Skype interviews. |
