I wrote a textbook for Dalian University of Technology Press which is a pretty significant outfit in Chinese terms.
I picked up the job Fixed rate - not royalties - because many years ago I worked there as an on-call proof reader.
My situation is not likely to be duplicated by others, but it does make me think that the publishing arms of the bigger universities could be worthwhile targets for the OP.
Ho-hum graphic design is one criticism of the production of my text. Also, as a cost saving measure, significant parts are accessible only through a dimensional barcode with the text displayed on an iPhone.
