Seems it would be a hugely expensive project for little benefit... moats were last big a few hundred years ago. But logic and common sense is very rare in the land of oil and gas.

It was actually in the news a couple of months ago but I think was dismissed as fake news. This report seems more credible. If it is true, it does seem as though the siege could be pretty much permanent, which will be devastating for the many multi-national families locally. Does seem slightly at odds though with the reputation of the current Saudi prince who's trying to modernise his kingdom..... |

The Saudi's have a long history of spending huge sums of money on there eccentric little projects, I don't understand instead of smokeing money on Moscues and other projects cant they try to make an actuall economy, only recently oil's recovered its price that cash flows not going to last forever. |
